Urban Energy Source, LLC (“UES” or
“Urban Energy”) believes that your privacy is very important, and we have
created this privacy statement (“Policy”) as part of our commitment to the
protection of your information. It is important to UES that you know what
information is collected from you, and how that information is used, disclosed,
and protected.
When you use our Web Sites you may fill in and submit forms to enroll for
Electricity Service, provide us with feedback on our Web Sites, products and
services, or to make an inquiry. If you enroll for service you will be required
to submit individually identifiable information including name, address,
taxpayer identification number, email address, telephone and fax numbers
(collectively “Information”). Additionally you will be required to submit
‘account specific’ information to facilitate evaluation of any service
enrollment request, such information may include meter numbers and electricity
usage history. When you visit our Web Sites our systems may automatically
collect certain non-identifying information about you. Such ‘automatically
collected’ information may include your IP address, the type of operating system
or browser that you use, the domain name from which you were referred to our Web
Site, and the pages that you viewed while visiting our Web Site. Additionally we
may use cookies to store certain information on your hard drive to enhance your
browsing experience whenever you visit our Web Sites. Urban Energy treats any
individually identifiable information, submitted through our Web Sites, as
confidential and we will not sell or otherwise disclose your confidential
information to any third party that may use such information for unwanted
marketing purposes. UES will not disclose your information to any third party
except as provided for in this Privacy Policy.
This Web Site contains links to other web sites. UES is not responsible for the
privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
The individually identifiable information that you provide us through this Web
Site is used to evaluate your request for electricity service and to determine
the best available product or service that matches your situation. As part of
our evaluation process, we may use third party entities to collect your credit
information and bill payment history before deciding to provide service to you.
UES will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the confidentiality of your
information remains intact. Any electricity usage information that you provide
us through this Web Site is used to develop your electricity usage profile that
is a necessary step in UES’ process for pricing electricity service. We may
share such usage information with third-party entities as a normal part of our
business process and to develop our wholesale commodity cost of service. In
general, UES may share your personal information with third party entities as
necessary to complete a transaction, perform services on your behalf, or to
perform a service that you requested. Any third party that acts solely on Urban
Energy’s behalf is not permitted to use your information for other purposes. For
example, we may use vendors to process and print your billing statement on our
behalf. Such a vendor can only use the individually identifiable information,
provided by us, to produce the billing statement. When UES closes out an account
for non-payment, we may disclose individually identifiable information about the
account to third parties such as credit rating agencies or credit bureaus. Such
entities may use the individually identifiable information to update their
records.
UES may store the information you provide us, through this Web Site, in our
company databases and it may be used to provide customer service and for our
internal business and marketing purposes. UES employs a variety of physical,
electronic, and procedural safeguards to ensure the security of your
information. Whenever you complete a service enrollment form or enter account
specific information on our Web Site, we protect the privacy of your information
by using established Internet encryption technologies like Secure Sockets Layer
